Vocational Programmes

Vocational courses are courses that are usually aimed to equip the students with maximum exposure to practical skills for a specific profession or field. These courses are tailor-made to make students completely job ready. Unlike traditional courses, these courses strengthen the student’s procedural knowledge and empower them as skill-oriented person.

The Department of Vocational Education was introduced in 2018 with two U.G courses Viz, B.Voc in Banking and Financial Services and B.Voc Software Development funded by UGC. Further, we are the only college introducing Vocational courses within Alagappa University to enhance the skill potentiality among the students.

In the year 2018-19 UGC approved two B.Voc programmes viz, B.voc Banking and Financial services and B.Voc Software Development. The UGC sanctioned Rs.1 crore 70 Lakhs for Three year for running courses. Dr.R.Kalidoss appointed as a Nodel Officer and Dr.Pandidevi and Mrs.Nirmala appointed as Assistant professors for the courses.

Mission

• The curriculum combines theory with practical skills, focusing on the Computer/ IT / Software/Banking, Finance, and Insurance industry.
• A B.Voc. in Banking and Finance prepares students for a career in accountancy, financial management, and other areas of business.
• The field of finance deals with credit and cash and offers a safe place to store cash as well as liquidity to make future purchases and investments.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Software Development/ Banking and Financial Services has numerous job opportunities, which are often more lucrative than those in other sectors.
• They can also pursue consulting positions with MNCs, Government departments, or independent firms. The choice of these fields is varied.

• B.Voc.Software Development / B.Voc. Banking and Financial Service students gain an understanding of the basics of IT Sector / banking and provide essential skills in Computer , accountancy and finance.
• These graduates can find employment in the IT Industry / financial sector and become a part of the industry’s growth.
• B.Voc. in Banking and Finance prepares students for a career in accountancy, financial management, and other areas of business.
• it covers all aspects of finance. It offers multiple entry points, provides appropriate content, and enhances students’ employability
