About the Department
The department of zoology, cornerstone of our academic institution was established in the transformative year 1967. At first the zoology department was a part of the Department of Natural Science. After the introduction of zoology Major in 1967, it became an independent faculty. Founded with a commitment to the study and exploration of the fascinating world of animal life, the department has played a vital role in shaping the scientific landscape of the college. Over the past decades, it has evolved into a hub of research, education and discovery contributing significantly to the broader field of biological sciences. Since its inception the department has been a nurturing ground for scholars and researchers fostering a deep understanding of zoological principle. The department has produced many graduates with distinction starting from the very year of 1967. With an illustrious history spanning more than five decades, the department of zoology continues to inspire curiosity, critical thinking and a profound appreciation for the diversity of life on earth.
